Gun Selector - Which Gun should I pick?

Find your perfect handgun, pistol, revolver, or long gun with our intelligent gun selection tool

How are these rankings determined?

Rankings are generated algorithmically based on each pistol's concealability score. We calculate a "pocket index" — the diagonal measurement derived from overall length and height — to objectively measure how easy each gun is to conceal. Smaller diagonal means easier concealment. Only compact, subcompact, and micro-sized handguns under 28oz in 9mm, .380 ACP, or .45 ACP are included.

Concealed Carry FAQs

What makes a good concealed carry pistol?

The best CCW pistols balance concealability with shootability. Look for guns under 28oz, compact dimensions (under 7" diagonal), adequate capacity (8+ rounds for semi-autos), and a caliber with proven defensive performance like 9mm or .380 ACP.

Is 9mm or .380 ACP better for concealed carry?

9mm offers better terminal performance but requires a slightly larger gun. .380 ACP allows for smaller, lighter pistols that are easier to carry daily. For most people, 9mm provides the best balance of stopping power and concealability.

How important is capacity for CCW?

While most defensive encounters are resolved with few shots, higher capacity provides peace of mind. Modern micro-compact 9mm pistols offer 10-15 rounds in a package barely larger than traditional .380s with 6-7 round capacity.
